Turkey Mexico Meatballs

These Mexican flavored meatballs are made with a mixture of ground beef and turkey--then topped with picante sauce and lots of shredded cheese.
 

Ingredients

  • 2 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Mexican shredded cheese
  • 1 cup red salsa
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper
  • 1 large fresh chili pepper, cleaned and chopped
  • 1 cup tomato, chopped
  • 2 cups picante sauce

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well. Form into 2 inch balls. Place in a large baking pan lined with foil. Bake for 20 minutes. Pour picante sauce over meat balls. Bake until done and serve with salsa.

 

Notes: If you want to make this real hot, add 3/4 cup of chopped hot pepper.
