Nevada Chili

This spicy chili contains beef, pork, and kidney beans.
 

Ingredients

  • 2lbs ground beef, lean
  • 1/2 lb ground pork, lean
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 1 large chopped green bell pepper
  • 3 cans red kidney beans
  • 1 large can diced tomatoes
  • 1 large can tomato juice
  • 1/4 tsp. lemon-pepper seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 2 oz. jalapeno juice
  • 1 1/2 tbsps. chili powder
 
Method

In large skillet fry ground beef, onion, and bell pepper. Sprinkle with salt and lemon-pepper. Cook until meat is thoroughly done and onion and bell pepper are tender. Drain. Meanwhile, in medium sized kettle or Dutch oven, add tomato juice, kidney beans, diced tomatoes, jalapeno juice, and chili powder and mix well. Bring to a boil then lower heat to medium. Add meat mixture and cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

 

Notes: If you do not have jalapeno juice you can use any brand of hot sauce instead but cut it down to 1 ounce.
