Refrigerated pizza dough is spread with refried beans. Ground turkey, cooked and flavored with taco seasoning mix, is added next, and shredded cheese is sprinkled over all. The baked pizza is garnished with lettuce, tomatoes, olives, sour cream and taco sauce.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place pizza dough on pizza stone, spread out but do not shape yet, let set at room temperature while preparing meat. Brown ground turkey, drain if necessary and add taco seasoning, following directions on pkg. Once meat is prepared, set aside to cool; does not have to cool completely. Take rolling pin, lighly flour and shape dough onto Pizza stone, once shaped, take refried beans and spread evenly onto dough. (Do not cook beans, take directly from can.) Spread cooked turkey on top of beans and cover with cheese. Bake 25 minutes, turn oven off, allow pizza to set in oven for 10 minutes, this allows the cheese to gain a nice crusty texture. Place your garnish items on top of pizza. Cut into 8 large slices to serve.
Notes:
You may substitute ground beef for turkey.
I prefer to use Taco Bell taco sauce.
For a complete meal, serve with a side of Spainish Rice.
