Maria's Chile con Queso

A creamy chili con queso dip--adjust the number of jalapenos and green chilies to make this as hot or mild as you like.
 

Ingredients

  • 12 jalapenos 6 green long chilies 3 tomatoes 3 small cans tomato sauce Milk (depending on the thickness that you would like) 1 whole onion 3 bars Philadelphia cream cheese Tostada chips

Method

Boil jalapenos, and then remove stem end and seeds. Chop to desire thickness. Roast chilies then peel off skin and remove all seed; chop or leave in long pieces. Chop tomato very fine. Chop onion very fine, put in pan with vegetable oil and stir until soft, then add jalapenos, chilies and tomatoes. Mix tomato sauce, cream cheese in blender. Add milk to achieve the thickness you prefer. Add mixture to pan that already has onion, jalapenos, chilies and tomatoes. Bring to a gentle boil. Serve in bowl with tostada chips.
