Killer Salsa

This salsa combines canned tomatoes and tomato sauce, chopped onion, jalapeno pepper, cilantro and garlic, plus a little vinegar and oil.
 

Ingredients

  • 2 15 oz cans diced tomatoes
  • 2 15 oz cans Hunt's Tomato Sauce (This brand provides the best flavor)
  • 1/2 medium-size yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro, finely chopped (use mostly leaves and upper stems)
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 tablesoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons salt (optional)
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • Dash of ground black pepper
  • Dash or two of bottled hot pepper sauce
  • Tortilla chips

Method

Combine all ingredients in large mixing bowl. Cover and chill at least 2 hours. Serve with your favorite tortilla chips.
